Established in 2004 by Dion and Sharon Rangé, Stonebarn is the 3rd largest private, family-owned, commercial truffle producer of fresh black truffle (tuber melanosporum). We are located in the Western Australian food and wine region of Manjimup – the heart of Australian truffle country. A few facts about Stonebarn:
- We have been producing truffle since 2010.
- We export 95% of our truffle all over the world.
- We export to: UAE, USA, UK, Italy, Germany, Denmark, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan.
- Stonebarn truffle is black winter truffle (tuber Melanosporum) which is the most expensive black truffle available.
- Stonebarn is one of only a few truffieries in Western Australia with HACCP certification for production, packing and distribution.
Indeed we pride ourselves on the exceptional quality, taste and aroma of our truffles often attributed to our rich, sloping and free draining loam soils that create the ideal terroir.
The aroma and flavour of truffles have been described as earthy – the floor of the forest, damp earth, roasted dry fruits and chocolate – with a memorable aroma and lingering aftertaste. Nothing beats the exquisite experience of fresh truffle!

Stonebarn supplies two kinds of inoculated truffle trees: inoculated English Oak (Quercus Robur) or inoculated Holly Oak (Quercus Ilex). Both our English Oak and Holly Oak are inoculated with our Stonebarn truffle.
Our English Oak (Quercus Robur) is a large, long-lived type of oak common to England and Europe. It produces green/yellow flowers in spring, followed by dark brown acorns. Inoculated with French Perigord Truffle (tuber melanosporum) from Stonebarn.
Our Holly Oak is a large evergreen oak native to the Mediterranean region. Inoculated with French Perigord Truffle (tuber melanosporum) from Stonebarn.
