At the beginning of the year Stonebarn Truffles caught up with Chef Jon Ashton. Jon, on behalf of Crystal Cruises “Culinary Journey” video series, wanted to learn more about the French black Perigord truffle that is grown in Western Australia. So while Crystal Serenity was docked at Fremantle Port, Dion Range – owner of Stonebarn, took Jon to some of Perth’s local foodie hubs that incorporate Stonebarn Truffles into their menus. In the video below you will see how Jon learns and gains inspiration from our amazing local chefs who show him how this most expensive black truffle in world can really add to a dish.
After experiencing the delicious truffle dishes created by Chef Ashley Ryan at Clancy’s Fish Pub at City Beach and Chef Sophie Budd at Taste Budds Cooking Studio, Jon is inspired to to create an Italian gnocchi with Prego’s Chef de Cuisine Alfred Napotnik back onboard Crystal Serenity using Stonebarn Truffles.
